The Marchmont Cup returns this summer

The club's oldest trophy is played over 36 holes of singles on Saturday 12 July, off the white tees, with dinner in the long room to follow as the light fades over the pines.

First contested in 1921 and named for the secretary who saved the course after the war, the Marchmont Cup is the most coveted prize on the fixture card. The honours board in the hall carries every winner since, and has room this year for one more name.

Entry is open now in the clubhouse. Places are limited to a single full field, and the committee encourage members to enter early.
