Course presented in fine order for the season

The head greenkeeper reports firm, true surfaces across all eighteen greens as the season opens — the heather already turning through the tees and the fairways running fast after a dry, kindly spring on the sandbelt.

A winter of patient hand-work has told. Selective pine thinning has opened the old sightlines down the fourth and ninth, and the heather regeneration along the back nine is taking hold at last, restoring the purple frame the course wore a century ago.

Members can expect running approaches and quick, honest putting surfaces well into the summer. The greens staff ask only that divots are replaced and bunkers raked with the care the course deserves.
