Greens through winter in fine order

The head greenkeeper reports firm, true surfaces across all eighteen greens as the season opens — the reward of a mild, dry winter on the headland and a great deal of quiet work in the months the members never see.

Hollow-coring on the greens is now complete and the surfaces have healed well, so members can expect running approaches and quick, honest putting well into the summer.

The team's attention turns next to the links' famous revetted bunkers, several of which will be rebuilt face-by-face through June without closing a single hole.
